Feeling Antsy

Morning, here. The expression "antsy" refers to generally how I am starting to feel these days. I am not sure if it's a common expression, but it's a combination of anxiety and anxiousness. I am just ready to get some things done. Unfortunately, we are still feeling like we're in a state of limbo...

You see, our apartment will not be ready until the end of September. So, until then, we are stuck in a tiny studio hotel room. To both our credit, Stacey and I have been quite well-behaved even though we and all of our stuff is stacked floor to ceiling and all over the place. We are making valiant attempts at cooking "at home" instead of eating out in order to save $$$, but the kitchen is pretty teensy. SO...most of the food has been canned.

Speaking of jobs, I think that is also part of my anxiety. I have applied for a couple of jobs this week. At least one of them was a very good fit for me, so when I sent off the CV I was feeling confident and upbeat. Now, 2 days later and to the tune of silence, the mood shifts to worry. Funny what an emotional roller-coaster ride job hunting can be, huh? Now, in fairness, I should point out that I just applied two days ago so it's hardly like they are late. But, I want to hear from someone!!! I want someone to want me on their staff!!! To make matters worse, my "desk" from which to conduct command-and-control in the job hunting efforts, consists of a little wooden table in a corner where I parked my laptop and printer. Those of you who know me can already understand why that particular setting is driving me crazy. Small space is not a huge problem, but disorderly will drive me to insanity VERY fast. I have both small and chaotic. Ugh.

So, to keep us busy in the meantime, we have been shopping for furniture with which to stock the new digs. Fortunately, all of the places we've bought from are holding our stuff and will deliver it later. We have a mattress, so can sleep. A couch, so can lounge. No T.V. yet (Stacey is feeling antsy on that one, hehe). Oh, also some dressers and nightstands, so can store our clothes (all of which are inappropriate for this cool climate!). LOL--see future post on my investigation as to the accuracy of conversion between fahrenheit and celsius. 12C = 53F??? NO way it's 53F here, no way. Somebody's wrong about something there, and I'm gonna figure it out.

Oh, and we also bought a coffee maker which is combo espresso machine and drip coffee maker for just $30 on clearance! I was quite happy, but Stace is dubious as to the brand. Like we have heard of any of the brands on appliances here. I hope it works well, or I am in for a ribbing. =)

The right person has not seen your resume yet. When they do they'll come flocking to you and you won't know which one to go with! Keep your head up!

Now, I understand wanting to get new stuff for the appartment but a month before you move in??? Guess it help to know what you'll have once you do get into the appartment. And I thought you took a coffee maker with you?

See you later.

Nice pic there on your Bio!

I like your BLOG name! Except, is it literally going to stay as a future intention? (wink) Do some entries so I can comment !!! It will give me something to keep me occupied. Heh.

We're shopping cuz we have nothing else to do! LOL. Well, the bed at least we wanted waiting in the wings and ready to go. Coffee maker was just an impulse buy since it was cheap! We didn't ship ours, Stacey's mom inherited our coffee maker.

OK, so tonight is the local SF meeting...I gotta run and see if I have any old ASFS flyers I can bring with me for them to see... thanks fo words of encouragement, too!

Actually, yesterday we did the most amazing drive around the south coast. It was so beautiful. Gonna post a pic of that in next couple of days. Lots of hiking along the seashore, spectacular!
