Streamlining

This is our house. Well, for a little while longer, anyway. I felt compelled to show it off, since this is the best it has ever looked. Funny how that works. You scramble like mad to get everything prettied up at the very end, just so you can sell it! But alas, new adventures await us in NZ and we are not the Borg, so the house stays put here in good ol' Chamblee. Adios, house!

This week, Stacey and I have been sorting through all of our belongings in an effort to determine what we cannot live without. Because we are only renting a very small shipping unit (roughly 4x7x7), we are going to have to get rid of a lot. All the furniture. All the appliances. All the Star Wars collectibles (insert gasp here). It's a tough process, stripping yourself of just about everything. It's also strangely relieving. You feel lighter. And you wonder as you look around at all the stuff: "Where did we get so much?" 13 years in a house does add up, and it's only aided by the disease called Consumerism that both of us clearly were suffering from.

In other news...I have had only one or two minor panic attacks this week in relation to the relocation. That is down from 4 last week. =) But, seriously, while things are quite hectic, we are both getting very excited and looking forward to the days to come. It's going to be an adventure, for sure. I think (hope) we are ready.
